Statement of Ethics and Poor Publication Practices and policies

1. POLICIES AND CODE OF ETHICS

The Scientific Journal in Health Sciences accepts and aligns itself with the provisions of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) (http://publicationethics.org/), which, although it will guarantee the quality of scientific articles, in terms of their transparency and safeguards, the information and ethical principles that govern research in the area of health.

1.1 EDITORIAL POLICY

Revista Científica en Ciencias de la Salud subscribes to the editorial policy reflected in the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The list of authors should include only those who meet each of the following requirements:

1) Have participated in the conception and execution of the work that has resulted in the article in question.

2) Have participated in the drafting of the text and in its possible revisions.

3) Have approved the version of the text that will finally be published.

1.2 CODE OF ETHICS

A. Human Studies

All studies involving humans must have the written authorization of an ethics committee of the participating institution, which must be attached to the manuscript submitted through the OJS.

Authors should mention in the Methods section that the procedures used in patients after obtaining authorization from the ethics committee of their institution.

B. Confidentiality and Protection

The author has an obligation to ensure that he/she is in possession of written informed consent for each subject's participation in the study.

The author is responsible for ensuring patients' right to privacy by protecting their identity both in the wording of the article and in the images; unless such information is essential for scientific purposes, in which case it may be included in the article provided that the patient or his/her parent or guardian gives written informed consent for its publication, same treatment to mention an institution.

C. Conflicts of Interest

Authors should indicate any financial relationship that could give rise to a conflict of interest in relation to the published article. Even if the authors consider that there are none, they should indicate it.

2. RIGHTS AND LICENSE

The scientific journal in Health Sciences does not charge any fee related to the submission, application, review, publication, layout, indexing, or assignment of a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 Attribution License

After the publication of the article in the Scientific Journal in Health Sciences, the articles acquire a Creative Commons CC-BY 4.0 Attribution License, giving the entire community the freedom to:

Sharing — copying and redistributing the material in any medium or format

Adapt — remix, transform, and build from the material

The authors of the articles are responsible for obtaining the appropriate permission to include in their article any material published elsewhere. The journal declines any responsibility arising therefrom.

The responsibility for the content of the published articles is the exclusive competence of their respective authors, and the Editor and/or the Scientific Committee are exempt from any type of responsibility.

The authors retain the author's rights and assign the right of publication to the journal, for which the author will receive a letter of agreement approving the above.

The Journal allows and encourages authors to disseminate the publication made electronically, through its link and/or the postprint and preprint versions on servers with this methodology.

3. DIGITAL PRESERVATION POLICY

The Recovery Plan (DRP) for computing and communications services is the primary responsibility of the IT Department of the Universidad del Pacífico (UP), however, it is the Infrastructure & Services area that is responsible for its development, maintenance and execution. The Infrastructure & Services area is responsible for the following activities: 

- Provide continuity to the UP's IT services in the event of a major or catastrophic contingency situation.

- Provide an organized approach to handling response and recovery activities following an unplanned incident or prolonged service interruption to avoid confusion and reduce the likelihood of error.

-Provide timely and appropriate responses to any unplanned incidents, thereby reducing the effect of a service interruption.

     3.1. Backup and Recovery Procedures 

- Data Backup: The backup of OJS information is carried out on a daily basis, incremental and differential, whose backup allows access to all modified or deleted information. The minimum storage time of the history is 1 (one) year.

- Data Recovery: In case of equipment failure due to damage, breakdown or other incident, there is a backup server that has the same configuration as the downed service, which allows the equipment with failures to be replaced. A system is envisaged to synchronize the data from the backup server to the backup server.

COPYRIGHT

The acceptance of the manuscript for publication implies the automatic assignment of rights for the publication of the article to the Scientific Journal in Health Sciences.
